GENOME PROJECT BURNS’ NIGHT

Well, it’s officially the 20th year we’ve played this gig! Thanks again to Neil for organising it, and to all who came and danced so vigorously!

The evening went with its usual swing, and we played our usual Scottish dances, including the Dashing White Sergeant and Eightsome Reel. A long time ago the research teams used to produce performances from the Lads and the Lassies, but not for the last few years, so Andrew sang Burns’ Corn Rigs.

And we sold a CD!

The haggis, neeps and tatties were as tasty as ever, and an innovation this year was deep-fried Mars Bars for pudding. Not at all bad, actually …
